Childbirth hospital

The childbirth hospital of Slavmed Medical Center is equipped with the latest generation of best-in-class equipment for assessment of mother’s vitals as well as intrauterine condition of the fetus and is ranked in the highest category. The department gets regularly renovated and replenished with the best internationally recognized equipment and treatment techniques, enabling the obstetrician-gynecologists in their daily job performance to oversee pregnancy up until delivery for pregnant women in both low and high-risk groups with obstetrician-gynecologic pathologies as well as other organ systems disfunctions. A new contemporary  medical approach that is used by professionals, allows to avoid various obstetric complications during prenatal care. Since 2014, the childbirth hospital of Slavmed Medical Center has recorded fairly serious indexes of maternity care. The childbirth hospital offers the best conditions for prenatal care with comfort: individual delivery rooms, an option for the husband to be present during delivery, great facilities for mother-infant bed sharing on the postnatal ward, meals provided three times daily and, of course, free visits for relatives. The technique of mother-infant bed sharing on the postnatal ward, the most favorable method for reducing postnatal stress worldwide, is used in the maternity hospital. In the childbirth hospital, all modern general and local anesthesia techniques are used to  protect gynecological patients, pregnant women, birthing mothers from painful medical interventions (cesarean section, uterine ruptures in the postpartum period, vaginal delivery, etc.) and stresses, as well as to ensure a complete 24-hour medical care rule during follow-up and emergency interventions. Choice of anesthesia in the childbirth hospital is individualized case by case, by mutual agreement between an anesthesiologist and an obstetrician-gynecologist. In the childbirth hospital, the pregnant woman has a chance to choose a doctor who will oversee the entire prenatal period, from pregnancy up to the delivery and postpartum period. Within 42 days following childbirth, a woman will be able to reach out to the center with any issues and will receive a free medical care, guaranteed by state, whether or not the problem relates to obstetrics or other organ pathologies. Any female Armenian citizen residing in Yerevan, that has a state obstetric aid certificate, has the right to receive a free obstetric assistance at Slavmed Medical Center. Women’s consultation is carried out in accordance with the standards established by the Ministry of Health, and is aligned to international norms.

Obstetrician-gynecologists of the childbirth hospital pay utmost attention to the pregnancy standards established by the MoH, pursuing acute implementation of all necessary instrumental and laboratory tests, as well as interventions within the scope of the State Package, and all necessary research and screening. If necessary, pregnant women can be sent appointment reminders via feedback, in order to avoid unwanted complications.

The Center’s obstetrician-gynecologists are regularly trained in leading foreign medical institutions and present their reports during major conferences and seminars.
