3 twins were born in “Slavmed” Medical Center

3 twins were born recently at “Slavmed” Medical Center, all three of them –  girls. As the head of the Neonatal unit of “Slavmed” Medical Center Hovhannes Ghazaryan mentioned during his interview with Tert.am, the babies weight is within the norm, with the smallest one weighing 2100 g and the biggest one – 2450 g.

“In the first days, two of the newborns had some respiratory problems, but after getting a proper medical care, everyone’s condition is stable. Tomorrow the newborns will be moved into a shared mother-infant postnatal ward”, – he said.

In order to take care of infants and reduce infant mortality, the founder of “Slavmed” Medical Center Armine Hovakimyan has invested in the latest accomplishments of modern medicine that allow to decrease the number of complications that are common among newborn babies. And according to the head of the Neonatal unit of “Slavmed” Medical Center, the center already has all the necessary equipment. Birth of the twins is simply a celebration for us. I must say that us, doctors often do not use the term “twins” as there are two different types of twins known in medicine – identical twins and biovular twins, that are conceived from two or more fertilized ovums, separate spermatozoids. “The latter is what people call ‘twins’, – mentioned Hovhannes Ghazaryan. Physicians consider good medical personnel and technical equipment as one of the most important components of newborn care. “There is a good balance of things at Slavmed Medical Center, and doctor-patient relationships are at the highest level “, -Hovhannes Ghazaryan underlined. The newborn twin’s parents told that they were surprised when they learnt that they were going to have twins.

“When you hear such news, you forget everything, because they are angelic creatures, sent by God. However, I would like to thank the medical staff of “Slavmed” Medical Center. I’m very grateful to each one of them, they are very attentive – one feels confident that their newborns are safe here. “It was a Christmas gift for all of us”, – finished her speech the happy mother.
