Endoscopy diagnostic tests & procedures
The endoscopic service of “Slavmed” Medical Center, being equipped with one of the best equipments of the latest generation of modern medicine, carries out multi-profile activities, both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic services.
Up-to-date, Japanese PENTAX endoscopic device allows getting digital image of HD quality, which guarantees the efficiency of the diagnostic service. The devices allow to get real-time digital image enhancement, zooming and carry out virtual chromo endoscopy of the mucous membrane. This function allows the physician to thoroughly examine the structure of the mucous membrane and vascular network by instantaneous change of different regimes, and is one of the leading and modern methods of early diagnosis and treatment of pre-tumor and tumor diseases.
The service is equipped with a CO2 endoscopic insufflation system, which allows performing endoscopic procedures faster, increasing the scope, and reducing the time of the examination and the pain in the abdomen caused after that.
If necessary, during the examination a sample is taken for biopsy and for rapid testing of Helicobacter pylori infection.
Thanks to the modern ERBE 300D electrosurgical generator, in addition to diagnostic procedures, emergency and scheduled endoscopic surgeries are widely performed at the center.

The following examinations are carried out in the endoscopy department:
Esophagogastroscopy – examination of the esophagus, stomach, duodenum
Duodenoscopy – examination of the duodenum
Rectosigmoidoscopy –examination of the rectum and sigmoid colon
Colonoscopy- examination of the colon and rectum
Ileocolonoscopy – the examination of the end of the small intestine, colon and the rectum
Interventions performed during the endoscopy are:
– biopsy of the gastrointestinal tract
– diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori
– hemorrhage termination
-removal of foreign bodies
– realization of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography
