Pregnancy registration
After confirming pregnancy through the appropriate testing, the expectant mother should apply to the Women’s Consultation Department of Slavmed Medical Center to undergo an ultrasound examination in order to confirm the correct position of the fetus, its development and heartbeat of the zygote, as well as to monitor the course of pregnancy. Every woman with Armenian citizenship residing in the city of Yerevan and in possession of a state sponsored delivery certificate has a right to complimentary childbirth in Slavmed Medical Center.
Necessary laboratory and instrumental studies by quarters in pregnant women of high and low risk groups
The first trimester – 11-14 weeks gestation
The first important screening is targeted to discover any potential indications of possible chromosomal anomalies.
Interventions necessary during this period are as follows:
– a pregnancy ultrasound
– full blood count
– blood typing and RH factor test
– vaginal smear examination
-common urine examination
-glucose
– urea
– prothrombin time (INR)
– hepatitis B
– hepatitis C
– syphilis
– therapeutic advice
-ECG
– a single free advice of narrowly focused specialist (endocrinologist, neuropathist, ophthalmologist)
At 11-14 or 18-22 weeks’ gestation genetic testings, PAPP-A, Free βhCG, AFP, Free Estriol are performed based on the mothers-to-be request or per gynecologist’s referral.
The second trimester – 18–22 weeks gestation
A detailed examination of the fetus structure is performed during the second screening.
Interventions necessary during this period are as follows:
-ultrasound
-at 30 week-laboratory testings
– full blood count
– common urine examination
– vaginal smear examination
– glucose
– urea
– prothrombin time (INR)
– syphilis
– therapeutic advice
Doppler ultrasound is performed at 26-30 weeks’ gestation per gynecologist’s referral.
All pregnant women (RA citizens) are provided with uncapacity list and obstetric aid state certificate.
The third trimester – 32–34 weeks gestation
The third screening test aims to gain information on delivery
Interventions necessary during this period are as follows:
– ultrasound
– at 36-37 weeks- full blood count
– common urine examination
Visits to the gynecologist are unlimited.
Necessary documents:
-passport (pregnant woman’s and her husband’s)
-obstetric aid state certificate
-ID card
-marriage certificate
-social security card
Necessary documents for foreigners:
– passport (pregnant woman’s and her husband)
– a copy of marriage certificate
– a copy of residence card
The following is required for the birthing mother:
– gown
– 2 night-gowns
– socks
– slippers
– towel
– sanitary pads
– cotton underwear (15 items)
The following will be required for the newborn:
– diapers
– baby wipe
– baby clothes (pre-washed and pre-ironed)

Obstetrician-gynecologists of the maternity home strictly adhere to existing pregnancy standards established by the MoH of RA, by implementing of all necessary digital and laboratory testings.
